So, this is a hot topic!
Is This “Magic” $10 Fleshlight Renewal Powder Really Just Repackaged Cornstarch?
And do you need to use it for your Fleshlight?
We’ll get to the bottom of this!

Having purchased and experimented with over 29 different meat light toys I will give you answers to both questions!

Yes, I know, maybe a little exaggerated at 29.
But heck, that makes me the perfect trusted partner for any questions related to Fleshlight products.
Let me tell you that the 29 Fleshlights (30 if you count my old STU in the corner) are not the only Fleshlight products I have purchased.
I have also bought the Fleshlight Renewal Powder!
And I have some secrets to tell…
Fleshlight Renewal Powder is 100% cornstarch
I was just about to write that Fleshlight doesn’t even try to hide it, that their Fleshlight Renewing Powder is just cornstarch.
It even says so on the can (see image below).

But then I got curious. Why do people ask if it’s really just cornstarch or not?
If it is visible from the can, the Fleshlight is not hiding it.
So, being the born researcher that I am, I followed the path Fleshlight.com website for quick inspection.
AND…
Are you kidding me?!
They don’t have the information anywherethat their Fleshlight Powder is just cornstarch!

They even ignored taking pictures of the back of the can.
This is just a suspicion, but maybe there is a reason for it.
They don’t want people to know that they only sell repackaged cornstarch. Because then you could buy it cheaper at your local supermarket.
Don’t get me wrong. I have no problem with different companies selling cornstarch for specific purposes.
That’s just part of the brand.
And in fact, I also agree with the fact that they call it something else.
However, I strongly believe that they should visibly deny it on the website.
Is Fleshlight Renewal Powder better than regular cornstarch?
Another thought comes to mind. Maybe they’ve found a specific type of manufactured cornstarch that works better than “regular” cornstarch.
Having used both, and now 100% transitioned to regular cornstarch (it feels weird having to type “regular”), I can honestly say:
- I don’t feel a difference
- I don’t see a difference
- I haven’t noticed that it dries faster using one or the other.
In conclusion, just use regular cornstarch from Maizena, Argo or Quaker and save yourself a few extra bucks.
But what about the smart can?
Well I get it, the little holes on the top and the extra lighting make it easy to dispense the right amount.
But a simple solution is to simply use a toothpick or something sharper to poke a few holes in the cornstarch lid. There you have it, a simple homemade Fleshlight renewal powder.
I suppose a reason for using the specific Fleshlight powder could also be that you’re just baffled by using something from the kitchen on your Fleshlight. I get it, and if that’s the case, you can buy it once and then maybe replenish the same can with regular cornstarch. Or just put it in a different container than the one at the beginning.
Reasons why you should use cornstarch (or Fleshlight Renewing Powder):
From the title, as you may have guessed, I think it is a very good idea to use cornstarch or the “magic” Fleshlight renewing powder.
And there are quite good reasons for this:
- It will increase the lifespan of your Fleshlight
- It will make you feel and look like new again.
- It will keep it from feeling sticky.
- It will make it feel soft
- It will prevent slow and other residues from sticking.
- Dries the Fleshlight and prevents mold (read our Fleshlight Drying Guide here)
